Content Standards for the GHC Blog
Our blog is a platform for sharing knowledge, stories, and resources that align with the GHC mission. All submissions must meet the following standards:
1. Mission Alignment
Content must support at least one of these goals:
-
Promote holistic wellness, personal growth, or mindful living.
-
Share practical, science-informed wellness strategies or traditional wisdom presented respectfully.
-
Highlight local practitioners, artisans, events, or initiatives that foster community connection.
-
Inspire reflection, self-awareness, or positive action.
2. Tone & Voice
-
Warm, respectful, and inclusive.
-
Encouraging without being pushy; inspiring without making unrealistic promises.
-
Accessible to both newcomers and experienced readers in the holistic space.
3. Accuracy & Integrity
-
Information must be truthful and verifiable.
-
Health claims should be based on credible sources, research, or clearly identified personal experience.
-
Avoid exaggerated or absolute claims (e.g., “cures,” “guarantees”).
-
Attribute quotes, statistics, and non-original ideas to their sources.
4. Inclusivity & Respect
-
Language should welcome people of all backgrounds, abilities, identities, and beliefs.
-
Avoid stereotypes, exclusionary language, or culturally appropriative content.
-
When referencing traditional or cultural practices, do so respectfully and acknowledge origins.
5. Readability & Structure
-
Well-organized with clear headings, short paragraphs, and plain language.
-
Free from excessive jargon — define terms that may be unfamiliar to a general audience.
-
Proofread for grammar, spelling, and clarity before submission.
6. Originality
-
Submissions must be original to the author and not previously published elsewhere (unless noted and approved).
-
AI tools may be used for drafting or editing, but the final work must be original, reviewed by the author, and reflect their own expertise or perspective.
7. Promotional Content
-
Promotional mentions of services, products, or events should be relevant and integrated naturally into the article.
-
Overtly sales-focused pieces will be considered sponsored content and may require additional arrangements.
8. Editorial Rights
-
GHC reserves the right to edit for clarity, style, and alignment with our mission.
-
We may adjust headlines, format, or images to suit the platform.
-
Submission does not guarantee publication; acceptance is based on editorial review and scheduling.
