Community wellness is created in many ways: by helping families meet essential needs, making sure children arrive at school prepared, supporting local businesses, and building spaces where people can connect. This month, we are shining a light on some of the people and organizations doing that work—and inviting you to become part of what comes next.

Community Conversation
Wellness Begins with the Basics
For families worried about food, diapers, clothing, or school supplies, wellness begins with having the basic resources needed to feel safe, supported, and able to move forward.
Our conversation with Parker White of BackPack Beginnings explores how the organization supports the whole family, creates pathways toward greater stability, and gives people of all ages meaningful ways to serve.

Community Spotlight
Quiet Work. Extraordinary Impact.
Some of the most meaningful work in our community is happening quietly, led by people whose names many of us may never hear.
Since 2010, An Attitude of Gratitude, a recognized nonprofit led by Katina Amadi and a dedicated group of women, has adopted one Title I school each year. The organization provides supplies for the entire school, helping students arrive on the first day prepared to learn and ensuring teachers have resources to support them.
Their work has supported thousands of students and hundreds of teachers—an extraordinary example of what can happen when people recognize a need and continue showing up, year after year.

We are honored to shine a light on Katina and the remarkable women of An Attitude of Gratitude—one school at a time.

GHC Spotlight
What We’re Building Together
This month, we are also turning the spotlight toward GHC—not to celebrate ourselves, but to share what community support has made possible and why it matters.
In just over a year, our website and directory have become the foundation for a growing network of practitioners, businesses, volunteers, and wellness seekers. GHC is 100% volunteer-powered, and its future depends on people choosing to join, renew, volunteer, donate, and share the Collective.

Special thanks to the folks who power GHC.
