The State of the Collective: What We’re Building Together

We had a vision: to connect Greensboro’s holistic community and help educate the public about the many approaches to wellness available in our area.

In June 2025, we brought that vision to life with the launch of the newly created Greensboro Holistic Collective website and its online directory. The directory was designed not simply as a place to list businesses, but as the foundation for a more visible, connected, and supportive holistic community.

We wanted to create a trusted place where people could discover local practitioners, services, and resources—and where holistic professionals and conscious businesses could find one another, build relationships, and grow together.

Just over a year later, 35 local holistic businesses and practitioners are represented in our directory. Our newsletter reaches 224 subscribers, and our community has grown to 530 Facebook followers and 474 Instagram followers. We hold monthly networking meetings, create opportunities for education and connection, and bring our community together through the Greensboro Holistic Fair.

That is a great deal of growth in a little over a year—especially when you consider that Greensboro Holistic Collective is 100% volunteer-powered.

Every directory update, newsletter, social media post, networking meeting, community event, and new initiative happens because someone believes Greensboro needs a place where holistic practitioners, conscious businesses, and wellness seekers can find and support one another.

More Than Paying for a Service

Membership in Greensboro Holistic Collective includes valuable benefits, such as a directory listing, increased visibility, networking opportunities, education, and ways to participate in Collective events.

But being part of GHC is about more than paying for a service.

Joining or renewing your membership is a way of saying that you believe this community should exist. Your membership helps maintain the website and directory, share trusted holistic resources, introduce community members to local practitioners, and create opportunities for relationships and collaboration.

We recently lowered the cost of membership because we want belonging to the Collective to be accessible. We also recognize that the true value of GHC does not come only from what one person or business receives. It comes from what all of us make possible together.

Where We’re Going

In just over a year, we have created a strong foundation. Now we want to sustain it, strengthen it, and continue building upon it.

We want to expand the visibility of our members, strengthen our networking gatherings, offer more educational opportunities, welcome more holistic businesses into the directory, and create meaningful ways for practitioners and community members to connect.

To do that, we need more than followers. We need an active, participating community.

Donate toward our operating costs. Contributions of any size help us maintain the website, communications, technology, events, and other resources that keep the Collective moving forward.

Greensboro Holistic Collective was created to be more than a directory or an event organizer. It is becoming a place of connection, shared knowledge, mutual support, and belonging.

What comes next will not be built by one person or even by a small group of volunteers. It will be shaped by all of us—by the people who join, renew, participate, volunteer, donate, share our work, and invite others into the community.
