May invites us to notice what begins to take shape when people come together with intention.
This month, we’re holding a few threads side by side: the spaces that anchor us, the practices that support us, and the ways we continue to build connection across our community.
You’ll find the story behind The Pear Tree Wellness Collective, a reflection on the legacy of the Sally Jane Kindness Foundation, as we celebrate Mother's Day. An invitation into the Triad Reiki Conference and other community events. Each offering a different way of experiencing care and connection.
Alongside these, we’re sharing simple practices for supporting the body, along with opportunities to gather, collaborate, and stay connected.
As these pieces come together, a quiet question emerges: What begins to grow when we create space for care, connection, and shared purpose? |

A Home for Healing in Greensboro
The Pear Tree Wellness Collective has become a quiet anchor point in Greensboro — a place where care, connection, and a wide range of healing practices come together under one roof.
In this interview, Emily Ward shares how a historic home on West Market Street became a warm, intentional wellness space — and how the vision behind The Pear Tree also helped give root to the Greensboro Holistic Collective.

A Legacy That Lives On
What began as a simple idea—how small acts of kindness can shift perspective—has grown into something lasting. The Sally Jane Kindness Foundation carries forward a legacy rooted in compassion, connection, and the belief that even the smallest gesture can make a meaningful difference.
Through community initiatives and a growing vision, this work continues to expand—creating space for kindness to be practiced, shared, and experienced in everyday life.

Community Event
A Day of Exploration and Connection
There’s a kind of energy you don’t fully understand until you step into a room and feel it for yourself. This spring, the Triad Reiki Conference returns to Greensboro, bringing together practitioners, speakers, and a curious, open community for a full day of discovery.
With 14 speakers, more than 35 vendors, and experiences ranging from research-based discussions to sound baths and intuitive practices, the day offers something for both those deeply immersed in this work and those simply beginning to explore.
You don’t need prior experience—just a willingness to explore.

Collaborating on Facebook and Instagram
|
|
One simple way to support each other is through Facebook’s collaboration feature. Instead of sharing a post after it has already been published, consider co-publishing it from the start.
|
|
When both accounts are added as collaborators, the post can appear in both feeds and reach both audiences at the same time.
|
|
It’s a small shift that can expand visibility while reinforcing what we are building together: connection, shared support, and a stronger local wellness community. For example GHC uses @greensboroholisticcollecitve for Facebook and consistent hashtags like #wellnesscommunity, #inclusivecommunity, #communitysupport, #greensboroevents.

This Month’s Limerick
There once was a place in our town
Where voices long quiet found ground
With care at the core
They opened the door
And connection began to resound
See Who It Might Be
