There is no shortage of practitioners.
There are massage therapists, herbalists, coaches, energy workers, nutritionists—people doing thoughtful, meaningful work to support others in feeling better, living better, and understanding themselves more deeply.
And yet, for many of them, the experience is the same:
It’s hard to be seen.
It’s hard to build steady connections.
It’s hard to grow something meaningful while doing everything alone.
On the other side, for those seeking support, the experience isn’t much easier.
Where do you start?
Who do you trust?
How do you know what’s right for you?
The information is scattered, the connection is missing, and it can be perplexing trying to find the support you need.
That gap—between practitioners doing meaningful work and people looking for support—is where the Greensboro Holistic Collective began.
What We’re Building
The Greensboro Holistic Collective is not just a directory. And it’s not just a series of events.
It’s an ecosystem. One that is still growing and designed to support visibility, connection, and trust within the local holistic community.
In our first year, with an entirely volunteer team, we’ve:
- Launched a website with a growing practitioner directory
- Welcomed 34 members into the Collective
- Published 29 articles from staff, members, and practitioners
- Featured 9 practitioner spotlights
- Hosted 12 network meetings with steadily increasing attendance
- Produced 8 newsletters with strong engagement
- Held our fall wellness fair
We’ve also seen steady growth in awareness:
- Facebook has grown from around 100 to 486 followers
- Instagram from just over 80 to more than 400
And perhaps most importantly, people are paying attention.
Our newsletter open rates consistently land between 60–67%, with meaningful clicks and engagement. These aren’t passive numbers; they reflect real interest, real curiosity, and a community beginning to form.
For Practitioners: Being Seen in a Different Way
If you are building a holistic practice, you already know how hard it is to have consistent visibility and social media presence. Word of mouth takes time.
The Collective is designed to support you in ways that go beyond being listed somewhere.
This includes:
- A presence within a curated directory, where people are actively looking for support
- Opportunities to contribute articles and share your perspective
- Spotlights that introduce your work to a broader audience
- Inclusion in a newsletter that people are opening and reading
- Access to network meetings that build real relationships, not just contacts
- Participation in fairs and events that create in-person connections
This isn’t about adding another task to your list. It’s about being part of something that helps carry the visibility with you.
You’re not just listed—you’re represented.
For the Community: Finding Your Way More Easily
For those seeking support, the Collective offers something that’s often missing: a place to begin.
Instead of searching across disconnected platforms, you can explore a growing network of practitioners, approaches, and perspectives in the local community.
Through the directory, articles, newsletters, and events, you’re able to:
- Discover different modalities and approaches to wellness
- Learn through real voices and lived experience
- Find practitioners aligned with your needs and values
- Engage with a community that is actively sharing knowledge and resources
It becomes less about searching and more about connecting.
An Honest Moment
We are still building. The Greensboro Holistic Collective is volunteer-led. Every article written, every event organized, every update made to the website has been done because a group of people believes this matters.
We are not yet at the point where we can point to a clear, measurable financial return for our members.
What we can point to is momentum.
We can point to engagement.
We can point to growing visibility.
We can point to relationships forming and opportunities beginning to emerge.
And we can point to the fact that something tangible is taking shape.
Where We’re Going
As we move into our second year, the focus is clear:
- Expanding promotion to increase visibility for our members
- Developing strategic partnerships to broaden awareness
- Enhancing the directory to make it more useful and easier to navigate
- Continuing to create opportunities for connection, both online and in person
This is about building something that supports both practitioners and the community in a way that feels accessible and sustainable.
An Invitation
If you are a practitioner, this is an opportunity to be part of something that is actively growing, something that is working to support not just your visibility, but the broader ecosystem you are part of.
If you are someone seeking support, this is a place to explore, learn, and connect with people who are doing this work with care and intention.
The Greensboro Holistic Collective is not finished; it’s forming, and that means there is still space to shape what it becomes. We hope you join us.
A Volunteer-Led Collective
This work is carried forward by a group of volunteers – practitioners, and community members
who give their time to support what is being built here.
