“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.”

— George Eliot

As the season shifts, so do we. Cooler days, changing routines, and a different pace can invite us to pause and pay attention to what we need. Self-care doesn’t have to add more to your to-do list. It might mean making room for rest, nourishing your body, getting outside, or returning to a habit that helps you feel your best.

This cozy season, consider self-care a gentle practice of tuning in. Greensboro Holistic Collective practitioners offer many ways to explore what that could look like for you.

Make space to rest and reconnect

At The Pear Tree Wellness Collective, Rachel Rossabi offers Rolfing, a practice involving hands-on bodywork and movement education. Lisa Murray of Raindrop Harmonics brings together essential oils, touch, colored light, and sound in her sessions. Pear Tree’s in-house sauna offers another opportunity to pause.

Also at Pear Tree, Kinetic Roots Wellness offers Reiki and therapeutic massage, including Himalayan Salt Stone Massage and sessions in its salt sanctuary. Upstairs, estheticians Rosalie Catanoso and Ginger Terry offer facials for those ready to give their skin some attention.

Adjust your skincare with the season

As cooler, drier weather arrives, your skin may need something different from what worked during the summer. Ginger Terry suggests paying attention to how your skin feels and considering a richer moisturizer if it needs more support.

“Your skincare routine should evolve with you rather than staying the same.”

— Ginger Terry

Ginger can assess your skin and help you build a routine suited to your needs. As a licensed massage therapist, she also offers a massage and facial combination for a longer restorative visit. And she offers one reminder for every season: daily sun protection still matters when the weather turns cooler.

Bring small rituals into everyday life

Leslie Rice of Botanic Aromatics creates small-batch botanical products designed to make plant-based self-care practical and approachable. Harmony Tea offers a warm, caffeine-free pause during a busy day.

For an evening wind-down, Dream Weaver botanical massage oil can be massaged into the soles of the feet, ankles, and legs as part of a bedtime ritual. Joyful Joints is a massage oil for stiff, tired, or overworked areas—especially welcome when seasonal activities leave the body asking for a little extra attention.

These moments don’t need to be elaborate. A cup of tea, a few minutes of massage, or an appointment you’ve been meaning to make can be a way to notice and respond to what you need.
